Brian Saylor, PhD, MPH
Carl Hild, MS

In 1999, the FSTA awarded $6,000 to the Institute for Circumpolar Health Studies (ICHS) for evaluating the Family Services Training Academy, and another $6,000 in 2000 for reviewing the current FSTA activities. This was completed in August 2000.

The Family Services Training Academy (FSTA) is a program operated by the University of Alaska Anchorage School of Social Work under a Reimbursable Services Agreement with the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHHS), Division of Family and Youth Services (DFYS). The mission of FSTA is to provide quality and comprehensive training for all statewide DFYS social workers, licensing workers, social services assistants, managers, and supervisors in the area of child welfare. FSTA operations commenced at the beginning of the state fiscal year 1999.
