The
Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies was established
by the Board of Regents in 1972 to address the problem of substance
abuse in Alaska.
Housed within
the Institute
for Circumpolar Health Studies, CAAS conducts research that
addresses substance abuse in Alaska. Research activities center
around the stimulation and coordination of interdisciplinary and
collaborative studies and the promotion of scientific interchanges
of alcohol- and drug-related information.
The Center
for Alcohol and Addiction Studies
is located near the University of Alaska Anchorage campus at 4500
Diplomacy Drive, Suite 404.
