problems. This Center is funded by the U.S. Department of Health

Health Education Library Project (AHELP)
AHELP is an electronic clearinghouse of current health promotion
and health education resources that are specific to and available
in Alaska. It contains information on health promotion programs,
projects and materials and more. Designed to serve professionals
in the field of health promotion and health education, as well as
other public health professionals, this site is intended to assist
professionals in their everyday jobs and promote sharing, networking
and collaboration.

Native Health Board
The Alaska Native
Health Board (ANHB), established in 1968, is recognized as the statewide
voice on Alaska Native health issues. The purpose of the Alaska
Native Health Board is to promote the spiritual, physical, mental,
social, and cultural well-being and pride of Alaska Native people.
Arctic
Health Web Site
This site provides information on Arctic and Alaska health issues
to a worldwide audience. The web site is funded by the National
Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, and is a joint
effort of the UAA Health Sciences Information Service and the Institute
for Circumpolar Health Studies.
Center
for Alaska Native Health Research
The University of Alaska, with funding through the National Institutes
of Health, National Center for Research Resources, established this
center to investigate weight, nutrition, and health in Alaska Natives.
Department

Healthy People 2010 is the prevention agenda for the Nation. It
is a statement of national health objectives designed to identify
the most significant preventable threats to health and to establish
national goals to reduce these threats.

Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities,
National Institutes
of Health
NIH-NCMHD is providing funding for the ANSRPH project. The mission
of the NCMHD is to promote minority health and to lead, coordinate,
support, and assess the NIH effort to reduce and ultimately eliminate
health disparities. In this effort NCMHD will conduct and support
basic, clinical, social, and behavioral research, promote research
infrastructure and training, foster emerging programs, disseminate
information, and reach out to minority and other health disparity
communities. The NCMHD envisions an America in which all populations
will have an equal opportunity to live long, healthy and productive
lives.

Resource Center for American Indian, Alaska Native & Native
Hawaiian Elders
The Center web site provides information on its goals and objectives,
activities, and communications on Alaska Native communities and
processes to assess the needs of communities and Elders in providing
culture-based Elder care.
